Full Show Summary: Archer is an animated sitcom, which premiered on the FX network in January 2010. International Secret Intelligence Service agent Sterling Malory Archer is played by H. Jon Benjamin. Sterling works in New York City and is considered the world’s most dangerous secret agent. Although charming and proficient in the martial arts, weapons, and driving, he is extremely self-centered. Despite Sterlings obvious skill he takes much pleasure from the job and the fast paced lifestyle that comes with it, partaking in frequent sexual encounters, alcohol, spy gadgets, and heart pumping thrills. Sterling works under his mother Malory Archer (Jessica Walter) head of ISIS. Malory is a self-centered alcoholic and regularly uses her resources within the agency for her benefit, by coming up with half thought out schemes. Sterlings ex-girlfriend and fellow ISIS agent Lana Kane (Aisha Tyler) although highly skilled and deadly feels continuously frustrated by being treated as number two since Sterling’s mother is the boss. Other cast members include Cyril Figgis (Chris Parnell) Comptroller of ISIS, Cheryl Tunt (Judy Greer) Malory’s Secretary, Pam Poovey (Amber Nash) Human Resources Director of ISIS, Doctor Algernop Krieger (Lucky Yates) head of ISIS applied research department, Ray Gillette (Adam Reed) openly gay intelligent analyst, and Woodhouse (George Coe) (played by Roy McCrery during flashbacks) Sterling’s British valet. The show comically enlists real world people, costumes, and events out of their actual chorographical order. Computers seen on the show are old and out dated but they have other modern technologies such as cell phones, laser sights on guns and GPS systems. The clothing and hairstyles of the characters are from the 1960’s but some plot is acted out as if it is current however is an event that happened several years before also naming events and people that would not be known of until decades later.
