Full Show Summary: After a mysterious solar eclipse takes place, several ordinary people in many walks of life all over the world begin to develop equally mysterious superhuman abilities. A cheerleader suddenly finds herself impervious to injury. A man whose older brother is running for political office begins to believe that he might be able to fly. A police officer begins to be able to hear the thoughts of others. An artist begins to create paintings that accurately predict the future. A young man in Japan discovers he can freeze or speed up time through sheer force of will. All of these characters have one thing in common. They are destined to change the world. “Heroes” tells several stories at once, following many characters as they learn more about their powers and about how using their powers effects their lives and makes them question their place in the world. While some are afraid of what they can now do, others decide to use their powers for the good of others. An Indian scientist believes he knows what may have caused the sudden appearance of superhuman abilities in the world and is fervent in his desire to study the phenomenon more closely and learn the truth. However, there are other forces at work. There is a mysterious “Company” as well as the enigmatic Mr. Linderman, who seem to know far more about those with amazing abilities than might be expected. Some members of the Company are even close companions or even relatives of those with abilities. Do they have the best interests at heart for those affected? Or do they have a more sinister agenda? And who is the mysterious villain known as Sylar who has decided to use his powers for his own nightmarish ends, and who refuses to let anyone stand in his way?
