Summary: Mel Wax heads up Hopeless Pictures, an indie movie studio named in honor of his deceased parents, Hope and Les. Mel struggles to keep the studio afloat while chaos abounds. Not only does poor Mel have to deal with neurotic pill-popping Swedish directors and vainglorious stars, but he has his rancorous soon-to-be ex-wife and moronic nephew, who also happens to be head of production, to cope with.
