Full Episode Summary: A sitcom depicting the misadventures of a struggling artist, Alain Degout, in the volatile setting of 1920s Paris. Degout is a hopeless painter of simplistic nostalgia-fodder (baskets of puppies, wide-eyed orphans, kittens playing with wool) who longs to be famous. His friends are the stupendously stupid Paul Rochet, an indecisive and impressionable fop; and the quack psychiatrist Minotti, a Freud lookalike who delights in tormenting his most regular client, the woefully confused Madame Ovary. An assortment of atmospheric Parisian characters (gendarmes, prostitutes, innkeepers, fellow artists, anarchists, communists and fascists) provided the background colour.
