Full Show Summary

One of the Cartoon Network's earliest original series when it premiered in 1996. Dexter is an 8-year old prodigy who, unbeknownst to his parents, has built a secret lab in his basement with wondrous world-changing inventions. Dexter aims to be the next Einstein (which might explain the German accent the show's creators randomly chose to infuse him with) but has to deal with his little sister Dee Dee who knows his secret and constantly gets in the way of his experiments. He also still has to contend with the problems of the average third-grader.The show's half-hour was divided into sub-segments with one of two sub-cartoons sandwiched in between: "Dial M for Monkey" was about Dexter's cartoon superhero monkey, and "The Justice Friends" was a cartoon about three superheroes living together. The show ended production in 1998 but was revived in 2001. The program's crude animation style was emblematic of the Cal-Arts animation style.
