Full Show Summary As the Pirate King Gold Roger was executed on the gallows he revealed that he left everything he owned in life in "One Piece". This sparked the great age of pirates; a time where all attempt to journey to the end of the Grand Line. Monkey D. Luffy dreams of finding the legendary treasure and becoming the Pirate King. Together with his crew, his nakama: Roronoa Zoro the swordsman, Nami the navigator, Usopp the marksman, Sanji the chef, Tony Tony Chopper the doctor, Nico Robin the archaeologist, Franky the shipwright, and Brook the musician; the Straw Hat Pirates tr avel the Grand Line on their ship the Sunny Go in search of adventure and fulfillment of their dreams! But, many will stand in the way of Luffy's dream and the dreams of his nakama - pirates and the World Government alike.One Piece is a very popular anime adapted from the popular manga of the same name created by manga-ka Eiichiro Oda in 1997. One Piece was soon animated by Toei Animation, and started airing on the Japanese TV network Fuji TV on October 20, 1999. From episode 207 and on, One Piece has been simulcast (simultaneously broadcasted) in both HDTV and Standard Definition. Starting with episode 279, One Piece began airing at a different timeslot, which varied from region to region in Japan. For the purposes of this guide, the early morning Sunday timeslot will be used, so the day the episode airs does not change. One Piece has reached 400 episodes on May 10, 2009. There are currently nine movies, with a tenth set for a Spring 2009 release, and ten TV Specials. In Japan, One Piece is very popular: after the 60th tankobona it was announced that total sales volumes of One Piece have reached 200 million copies. One Piece has become the best selling manga in the world, far ahead already completed "Pearl of the Dragon" and the longest manga Kochikame (out of more than 35 years). The first edition of 61 volumes of One Piece was 3.8 million copies - the largest first printing of the manga in Japan (and worldwide). Also, the sale of One Piece have reached 100 million faster than any other manga.
