Kurt Gerard Biography

Wiki Biography: Kurt Gerard was born Kurt Gerard Heinlein in Baltimore in 1969. He was an elite level track and field athlete and first found his way to the stage at St. Mary's College. After completing his MFA in Acting at the nationally heralded CCM Drama Program, Gerard entered an eclectic and lucrative performance career that spanned fashion, commercials and commercial print, film, high level regional theatre, and stunt/combat work. In recent years he has turned full time educator, now teaching within the Acting Program at Missouri State University. Many of Gerard's former students have gone on to become notable forces in the theatre and film industries. In 2007 Gerard unified his passion for performance with his dedication to environmental activism and penned the book "Green Theatre," a forerunner in works dedicated to using the arts to promote environmental education. In 2008, NPR dubbed Gerard "The Father of Green Theatre."
