Plot: Maj. Ferris (William Holden) put World War II in the past by becoming a prosperous Malaysian plantation owner -- until his old Army buddy, Ng (Tetsurô Tanba), drags him into a new conflict. Ng has ties to Communist rebels who want to overthrow the British, with backing from Moscow. The authorities soon link Ferris to Ng and arrest the retired soldier's girlfriend, forcing him to take sides in a clash he had hoped to avoid.
