Ed Robinson (The Office’s Martin Freeman) works in re-insurance until his colleague (and secret lover) is promoted and fires him. He realises that re-insurance is not where his passions lie and, after being asked “Tell us about yourself” and being unable to come up with an answer (“Well, I’m medium… More height, brown hair ...), decides to reasses his life.
Ed’s sister, Victoria (Abigail Cruttenden), is struggling to find a man to meet her exceedingly high standards. One is jettisoned because he sniffs too much. Another because he reminds her of her father (causing her to scream in horror each time they attempt to have sex). Their time-management consultant brother George (Hugh Bonneville) is a competitive control freak, struggling to keep his wife happy and his son, Albert, educationally stimulated. Their parents are constantly - and entertainingly - at each other’s throats.
Anna and the team travel to Stockport School just outside of Manchester, where the pupils get a lesson in how and why people come in so many different shapes and sizes.
