Full Show Summary

Four years into World War II, the quiet English village of Market Wetherby is in for a shock--not a German invasion, but the arrival of American servicemen at the new U.S. air base. The newcomers, however, are an altogether different breed. In the opinion of many locals, they’re "overpaid, oversexed, and over here."Predictably, some of the villagers and "the Yanks" are soonat odds. But others, like local doctor Helen Dereham (Oscar nominee Susannah York, Tom Jones; They Shoot Horses, Don’t They ?) and base commander Major James Kylie (Michael J. Shannon, The Affair), strike up a distinctly warmer relationship. And in a small place like Market Wetherby, few are left untouched by events.
