Full Show Summary There is a group of men whose job it is to keep the country safe from various threats. Based on the real-life Delta Force unit, “The Unit” depicts the lives of the men who go on secret missions that defend the United States but also must remain unknown to the public. Even their wives and other loved ones mustn’t know what their duties demand of them, or it could compromise the unit’s operations. Viewers get to see both the Unit’s missions and also what life is like for them at home between deployments. They specialize in gathering intelligence and directly addressing terrorist or other military threats. The wives of the unit’s members have their own bond, each of them understanding what their husbands duty requires of them, that it is incredibly dangerous and that they will never know what actions their husbands take in order to execute their missions. They are required to maintain a cover story that their husbands are part of the 303rd Logistical Studies Group, and must never tell anyone else the truth about what they do, lest it compromise their missions and force the unit to close operations. Husbands and wives alike live on the razor’s edge, never knowing what dangers the next mission will bring. The unit members, based at Forth Griffith, are led by Colonel Tom Ryan, also known by the code name Blue Iguana. Other Unit members include Jonas Blane (aka Snake Doctor), Bob Brown, Mack Gerhardt and Charles Grey. They are sent on a variety of dangerous mission such as rescuing hostages, intercepting intelligence and assassinating terrorist leaders. Meanwhile, the wives hold down the fort back home and deal with their own problems, such as comforting other women whose husbands have been killed in action. They also try to stave off fearing the worst for their husbands. |
